  • Design Strategy – UCD

At Kaizen we follow a user centric process which is known as UCD (user centred design).  It is a method based on principles incorporating psychology and design strategies which allows us to get into the root of the brief or issue as well as helping to create the right strategy and solution which would be desirable to the target market. We use methods such as Information architecture (to help define the website or interface) by creating wireframes (both static and interactive), persona creations (to help define your users and their needs) to workshops (we work with you and your business to help create the right solutions), ethnography (understanding your target market group by diary studies, shadowing, one to one interviews, or what ever we feel is the best way we can get to understand your market)  and usability testing (one method we use to evaluate your concept/website/solution).All of these techniques helps to bring the best possible solution to the forefront, which can have a competitive edge in the market.

  • User Experience Research

We use ethnography to help research the question at hand. Kaizen’s approach is to always keep your users & business (after all business is also a type of ‘user’) needs in-front and involve them throughout the the definition, design and deliverable stage.  This can be either through personas or through actual interaction.  Ethnography is about understanding cultures within a specific context.  We have the skill set to not only understand your users, but also to discover new behaviours and insights that could prove to be beneficial to a solution!  Contact us to find out more about this. We have some great examples to share with you.

  • Website design/redesign & web interface/interaction

Kaizen has also helped clients to improve their existing interaction design (whether on websites, or on products, such as mobile phones) to ensure that the customer is able to do what is required of them when using a particular interface.

Kaizen has worked for many clients from various sectors to help redesign or design their website, so that it is in line with business objectives as well as customer needs.  Using the UCD process, we are not only able to help our clients create the right solutions, but also understand their users needs for future releases.

  • Branding design

Kaizen has also ventured out to ensure that the brand of a product or service is in alignment with it’s intended market.

  • Information Architecture

We can create static and interactive information architecture / wireframes which can also be used in usability testing sessions.  By creating low-fidelity wireframes as this, you can quickly create a fully working website, which then can be tested with users, prior to taking it into development stage.  We have found that the cost of development and redevelopment can be huge, so why not avoid such hurdles and get your website/concept developed and corrected as early as wireframe stage.

  • Visual identity (logos and branding)

Kaizen have created logos and branding that are based on research of existing brands in the same area. By carrying out competitor analysis and also by involving your intended target market, we ensure that the brand or logo created has a competitive edge.  Why not involve your users and truly see what makes a brand or logo desirable in your users eyes.

  • Usability Testing

Kaizen have extensive experience of usability testing, whether this is at concept stage, or evaluation of an existing website / or soon to release product or website.  Usability testing can help to highlight the aspects that are working and that are not working, and also what needs to be delivered to ensure that the product or service is desired by the target market.  Gaining this knowledge can be of huge advantage, ensuring that a product or service is delivered to maximum potential when released on the market.
